One Way to Dry and Store Your Bogu

In Japan and Hawaii, It's not uncommon to see the club's bogu hung high up in front of open windows to dry between practices. Here is a way to use a common type of coatchanger to acheive the same result. To do this, all you need is a sturdy wooden coathanger, the kind with strong clips on the crossbar for hanging pants.

First, tie up your men so that a long segment men himo are knotted into a 8"-10" loop.

Then, clip your kote onto the hanger like this, clip over the first row of kote himo.

Next, lace the men himo loop thtough the loop in the center of your doh.

Finally, run the coathanger through the loop, and the whole thing can be hung up to dry! This lets air circulate all around your bogu, helping to prevent mold and works even better if you direct a small fan toward the bogu when it's wet. Best of all is to hang it up outside in a shaded spot to dry whenever possible.
